THE PUNISHER: MIND GAMES by John Silver, Marvel, Pat Mills, Tony Skinner, and Tom Morgan

After a couple of months drifting away from the Marvel Reboot Universe, I’m back with another entry of Part I introducing the Punisher – without casting Thomas Jane, Ray Stevenson, and Jon Bernthal (who I love as the Punisher) and set in the future. 2146 – The earth is run on technology and crime is at an all-time high in an run-down Los Angeles with authorities being bombarded and controlled by one of the world’s largest criminal kingpins, Tyler Stone, who is intent on stealing the state’s economy and resources to prepare a battalion of anarchists ready to take down …

First Blood by David Morrell

A re-adaptation I'd love to see happen. This time, NO STALLONE to be found, in acting or directorial, as he ruined the character and has the subtlety of a steamroller. Done in the style of something like John Hillicoat's The Road or the Coen's No Country for Old Men, with a focus on character building as opposed to over the top action. Rambo is a drifter, plain and simple. Not the hollywood type, nor a dumb musclehead. The book was not given true justice in the adaptation, as Stallone basically headed the thing, and left out many important scenes and …

Stay Cool by Ash J. Gilmore

One rookie detective named Nathan is taken for a ride-along with a veteran named Don to retrace the steps of a cold case when a group of past suspects are seen carrying a dead body. The two suspects are taken out in a shootout and the team enter the past investigated building only to find several half decayed bodies and one skeleton who turns out to be the victim of the past case. The rookie is told to leave it to the professionals, but when the so-called “professionals” arrived the bodies are nowhere to be found. Nathan feels that it's …

The Evil Dead 2 by Ash J. Gilmore

Written and Directed by: Fede Alvarez A sequel to Evil Dead, the 2013 remake of Sam Raimi's horror classic, The Evil Dead. The Evil Dead 2 picks up where the last left off with our heroine, Mia walking aimlessly through the forest with a severed arm, finds a bottle of what looks to be water. Little does she know that this bottle is the same one that “Wiseman” gave horror icon Ash Williams in the alternate ending to the horror/comedy classic, Army of Darkness. Desperate Mia drinks this liquid and falls into a deep sleep and wakes up in an …
