After receiving an invitation from his former employer and old friend Joey Drew, the former owner of animation studio Joey Drew Studios, Henry, a former animator of the studio, returns to the studio to find a mysterious ink machine. Unknowingly, getting it to work has unleashed a whole horde of ink monsters, including the demon cartoon Bendy. Soon, Henry finds himself not only in a struggle to escape the studio, but a mystery as to how the studio became so deserted all these years, and how the ink machine and Joey Drew may somehow be connected to it all.
