The Punisher has killed the world and now he must save it!
Hunting down the Russian Mafia to Brooklyn's dockland warehouse district, Frank Castle does what he does best and goes in guns blazing. But what he wasn't prepared for was the shipment of an experimental new chemical, which he causes to spill in the shootout and taint the river with it.
It is an unstable bio-chemical, meant to mutate the human body to survive in all conditions after nuclear fallout, but whereas it has inocculated Frank against all viruses due to his close contact with the 'Survivor Serum,' it begins to turn the entire world's human population into raving mad cannibals. All of it's mutants, meta-humans and supervillains included.
Months later, the first signs appear as Spider-Man kills and eats Rhino in the middle of a brawl during a football game. But as Hank McCoy and the Fantastic Four study Spider-Man, the world goes to hell outside, leaving Wolverine on the hunt for Castle in a race against time.
The streets of New York City are being torn apart in a bloody nightmare wave of violence as humans face their infected counterparts and as tribes and oppositions are established between heroes and super-infected.
As all hope fades and as enemies are made of allies and vice versa, it is up to the rag-tag team of survivors, Punisher, Wolverine, Captain America, Deadpool and Hawkeye to stem the rising tide of infection and death and give the scientists and refugees time to escape in the hope of finding a cure...
