In Gunborough, Delaware, there is a curious by-law, originally drafted when Delware first became an American state, which demands that any woman between the ages eighteen and thirty must marry before they enter their third decade, or face three years in prison. Six women who were born in Gunborough who fall into that age category, but who moved away and are living in different areas of the US, are sent a letter telling them that they have a year to find themselves a husband, otherwise they will spend thirty-six months incarcarated. The only problem is that the six females in question are more interested in their careers than matrimony. Could a spell behind bars alter their attitude to marriage?
