*WARNING* I usually enjoy long descriptions and lots of ideas.
*NOTE* If you haven't played/beat the inFAMOUS games, and you plan on doing so, this features spoilers. You've been warned.
The setting is Empire City, an NYC-esque area laid across three islands: the Neon District, where many businesses and entertainment venues are located, the Warren, the slum where goods are shipped into and out of the city, and the Historic District, the smallest of the three islands. The districts are connected by bridges, and each district has its own elevated train system. In the pre-opening credits prologue, six blocks of the Hirstoric District are wiped out by the Ray Spehere exploding. A plague develops, causing the government to quarantine the region, closing Empire City off from the rest of America. Cole McGrath, a courier who accidentally activated the Ray Spehere, finds that he has gained electrical-based powers, and uses them to bring peace-or chaos-to Empire City.
Eventually, Cole moves to New Marais to fight the Beast.
If you know the games, each one is split up. inFAMOUS as 3 movies:

New movie-only characters include Grim, man acting as second in command of the Reapers; Sandstorm, woman acting as second in command of the Dust Men; Jed, Zeke from Kessler's timeline, with Cole's ice-powers from inFAMOUS 2, second in command of the First Sons; and Alex DeLoine, anti-conduit militia member who learns he is a conduit, and so attempts to kill Bertrand, and later Cole.
