The Sacrifice of the Sniper by Daniel Williamson (Storyline)

THE SACRIFICE OF THE SNIPER is a western TV movie. A weary experienced sniper named Mitchell Danner, is forced once again to use his skills with a rifle. When Roscoe Bartlett, Sheriff of the small seaside town “Markland” arrives at Danner's home in the mountains. Bartlett hires Danner to help with a problem. Danner learns the town has been recently attacked and some of the townspeople have been killed by outlaws: Karl Long and his 2 brothers Brent and Jake, whom threatens they will return with Carlin's gang and they will kill everybody and burn the town down to the ground, if they refuse to release Bartlett's prisoner, gang leader Buck Carlin from the local jail. Danner rides with Sheriff Bartlett back to “Markland”, only to find the town has been deserted. Apart from Dave Stark, Bartlett's deputy. Noah Meacham, the town's mayor. Michael Miller, preacher. Monte Kane, hotel owner and his wife Olivia, who have decided to stay. As the town soon becomes a battleground, as the Long brothers and Carlin's gang rides into town and Danner engages the gang in a fateful spectacular gun-battle, as the Long brothers will do whatever it takes to break Carlin out of jail, which will eventually become Danner's act of sacrifice…
