Punisher: The Beginning by David Hayter & Alex Tse

A film adaptation of The Punisher in wake of the news that there is bound to be yet another reboot. If so, make it a MAX adaptation please, and give us some honest to god drama to justify the mindless violence, or else fuck everything up as you always tend to, Hollywood!!!

Based on Garth Ennis's work with the legendary character and carrying on from War Zone, The Beginning takes off some years after Castle kills Jigsaw.

Vigilante Ex-Special Forces Marine Frank Castle has been trying to find a way to forgive the past through fighting the murderous criminal underworld that cost him his family, thus becoming the most feared name in New York urban legend after leaving a trail of destruction in his wake years ago.

As the criminal underworld has gone to increasingly desperate methods to reclaim the streets, Castle has upped the ante, raining down hell on the mobs and especially targeting the smalltime crooks that have made New York's boroughs shy away in fear for their lives.

Where the cops are becoming outnumbered, outwitted, outbidded and outgunned by the guilty, Castle moves from target to target like the demon from everyone's worst nightmare.

But in the twisted world that is ultimately no more his than the lowlives he opposes, he unwittingly finds himself the target of several new breeds of criminal and some old ones too tough to die out; IRA terrorists, Italian mobsters, Jamaican Yardies, Yugoslav Sex Slavers, Drug Runners and even corrupt CIA agents. But he also finds himself the unwitting object of desire for one such CIA agent, Kathryn O'Brien.

With the help of ex-SAS ally, Yorkie Mitchell, Castle sets about tearing into the dark heart of New York City's back streets, hoping to wipe out this new breed of evil before the world becomes just another war zone!
