A reimagining of the 1988 fantasy horror novel which became the film ‘Nightbreed,’ Cabal is a tale of how some of us will find redemption and purpose in the least likely of places.
Calgary, Canada is caught in the terrifying grip of a serial killer!
The tormented, pessimistic Boone is certain that he has killed before, onlyu he doesn't know it for sure. A suicidal outcast living on the fringes of existence yet always only a few feet away from people like you and I, he is torn between the love of his life, Lori, and the psychiatrist he wants to help lock him up and throw away the key.
Persuaded by his therapist, Decker, that he has murdered entire families and blocked out the memories, Boone is framed for murder and goes on the run and into the distant wilds of small towns and endless fields only to be hunted down like a dog and killed by the police.
It is only then that he finds the place he has been longing for all his life; a place where only the darkest of creatures belong; not the outcasts and outlaws but the purest and truest of monsters. Here is Midian!
But on his trail are Decker and Lori, one convinced he isn't dead and the other convinced he has come back from the dead and joined the nightbreed. Both are right.
As Boone joins his new bretheren, using his new found powers to defend the innocent and helpless from the evil, discriminate killers of the world, the psychotic Decker discovers his new world and organises an all out war on it.
But Boone's love for Lori and his need to belong pull him in different directions and with great powers come great expectatons, great responsibilities, greater risks and even greater sacrifices.
When Midian is blown wide open, will it be the nightbreed that needs to be protected from the world of men, or will humanity need to be saved from them?
