WHAT IF Alicia Silverstone returned as Batgirl in a Neo-Silver Age film that celebrates the hard-boiled detective fiction of the 50s and 60s? A Spin-off from Joel Schumacher's Batman franchise, the story finds Barbara Wilson as a woman who contemplates on retiring her crime fighting, motorcycling days with the Dynamic Duo. Her adventure take her beyond Gotham City, into the heart of the nation's capital in Washington D.C. where she uproots a corrupt senator's evil ways. Complete with a dynamic sense of fashion, and a symbol of the 60s Rise of the Independent Woman, Batgirl takes off in her own adventure. Co-Starring Jason Bard, the son of Commissioner James Gordon as Barbara Wilson's love interest and partner in solving the mystery of P.I. Sam Bradley's mysterious death. With suspects including the sultry feline fatale Catwoman (Halle Berry), the politically manipulative Cavalier (Joaquin Phoenix), and Batgirl's nemesis from Gotham City - the dreaded Killer Moth (Nicolas Cage) who is bidding to turn into the monstrous Charaxes. The film concludes with Barbara taking on her role as a member in the House of Representatives in Washington, and engaged with Jason Bard.
The film is a tribute to the campy TV Series of the 60s and the neo-noir detective films of the same era. It falls into the same proposed Cinematic Neo-Silver Age continuity.
