Completely unrelated to the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie, Super Mario World takes viewers into a whole new world of Mario.
Presented as a whacky comedy adventure, Super Mario World would follow the adventures of Mario, a humble, care-free plumber who lives in the fantasy world of the Mushroom Kingdom. When he's called to unclog the pipes at the royal castle, the simple plumber falls head-over-heels in love with the beautiful Princess Peach. When he witnesses the Princess being kidnapped by the monstrous Bowser, a hulking dragon creature who schemes to rule the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario is shaken from his everyday life to rescue her.
Joining Mario on his quest is his loyal brother, Luigi. The two brothers find themselves teaming up with the wise-cracking Toad and the feisty Princess Daisy. Along the way to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser's clutches, Mario and Luigi run aground of their long-lost brothers, Wario and Waluigi, two bumbling con-artists who become nuisances more than threats. But carried by their flying pet Yoshi, and armed with magic mushrooms and fire flowers, Mario and Luigi are going to show everyone just how super they really are.
Introducing, in a cameo appearance, Mario and Luigi's emo cousin, Druigi!
