Two years have passed since the brutal rape of Emma Forrester(nee Broughton), and her family unit is falling apart. The only one trying to keep it together is her step-daughter, Heather, whose Christian beliefs make her determined to get back what has been lost from her family, but she is advised by Emma's GP, Dr. Richmond, that her stepmother's mental state is gradually getting worse, with sudden un-planned excursions in her car and other examples of unpredictable behaviour, and she warns Heather that Emma is a human time bomb waiting to go off. Meanwhile, her step-sister, Lynne, feels that her mum is shutting everyone around her out. Things come to a head during a Saturday shopping trip, when she is mugged. Emma then suffers a complete mental breakdown and her mind snaps. She takes the youth who mugged her into the garage of her husband's house, where she tortures him and then brutally murders him. By accident, Lynne sees the killing. She is subsequently pursued by her mum - a chase that ends with Lynne being savagely beaten to death with a crowbar. The Forrester residence suddenly becomes a living hell, as Heather and her fiance, Richard Fletcher, together with his parents and sister, try to survive Emma's psychotic onslaught.
