On the planet Nu-Earth a perpetual galaxy-wide war between the Norts and Southers is being fought. During the war all form of chemical and biological weapons have been used poisoning the planet and the troops of either side must live in enclosed cities and fight in protective gear.
The Southers have, through genetic engineering, developed a race of warriors who are immune to the deadly atmosphere and will therefore be superior troops. The Souther High Command deploy their secret weapon, the Genetic Infantry, in an airborne assault, but a traitor betrayed the secret of the G.I. to the Norts and they were massacred during the drop.
When the only surviving G.I. went AWOL in order to track down the Traitor General responsible, he was declared Rogue, a name he takes as his own.
Rescuing the minds of three of his fallen comrades by recovering the electronic dog-tags from the bases of their sculls, Rogue attaches them to specially designed slots on his helmet, rifle and backpack in order to keep them alive. Able to communicate freely, they take the names Helm, Bagman and Gunnar, and decide to help Rogue on his quest to find the Traitor General.
Hunted by both sides, Rogue’s only other allies are Venus Bluegenes and Rafella “Rafe” Blue, two Genetic Infantrywomen. Venus is an infantry solider like Rogue, while Rafe is a fighter pilot.
