(The seventh of the ten installments in the "CryptoVerse" series)
Initially inhabiting the swampland areas in and around Lee County, South Carolina, the story is told through the eyes of the reptilian humanoid cryptid throughout its scientific experimentation (due to its naturally vicious nature, the unapproachable creature has to be heavily sedated with tranquilizers and strapped down beforehand) after its secret capture. 7 feet tall, bipedal, bulky and covered in dark green scaly skin with glowing orange eyes and three toes on each foot and three fingers on each hand, the Lizard Man has an incredible degree of strength (more than capable of ripping into a car) and it is only just a matter of time before it fully snaps.
Emory: The sadistic head of a top secret, heavily guarded government laboratory that is scientifically experimenting on the dangerous creature after its secret capture from the swampland areas in and around Lee County, South Carolina. An arrogant and maniacal sociopath, he finds pleasurable amusement in antagonizing the dangerous creature from a distance when it is not in its tranquilized state.
Stephen: Unanimously viewed by his peers as being the best scientist in the top secret, heavily guarded government laboratory, he takes up emotional sympathy for the dangerous creature and despises the treatment it receives from his boss. A naturally quiet, reserved insomniac who is married in his personal life, it is reluctantly in his position to experiment on the creature. While quiet, he is not a mystery neither, as opposed to Claire. He is not outwardly sociable and it is of his preference to just do his job for however long it takes and go home afterwards. He values privacy and believes that everyone is entitled to having a personal life of their own. Outside of attention, he does not understand the reasoning of as to why anyone would want to display every aspect of themselves to the public. However, he is entirely open with his wife as, the way he visualizes it, in order to make their marriage work, it has to be based in communication. He loves and trusts her with all of his entirety. When he silently makes contact with an old friend, Lloyd, a rogue scientist who is disgraced within the community for his belief in the existence of cryptid creatures and world traveling investigations into them, after several years of losing touch with one another when each went their own way (one remained in the community, the other did not), he informs him of the creature and that is when he agrees to help his old friend in beginning to carefully devise a plan to free the creature.
Claire: A scientist in the top secret, heavily guarded government laboratory. Complex and mysterious, it is unknown of as to where her true feelings towards the dangerous creature, as well as her motivations are located as she expresses neither benevolence or malevolence. Neither a protagonist or an antagonist, she is perhaps neutral.
Hermosa: The caring, loving and understanding wife of Stephen. An immigrant originally from Cuba where she was born and raised, she is her husband's support system with a strong and powerful voice of her own while always having something intelligent to state as well.
Lloyd: When word gets around to him of the creature's secret capture and scientific experimentation through Stephen, they are both carefully devising a plan together to free the creature of its torture as they are fully aware of the fact that, due to the government laboratory being top secret, heavily guarded and the creature's naturally dangerous nature, it might be extremely difficult to successfully accomplish.
