Scott Jensen is a preppy yet retentive young rookie on the police force trying to play with the Big Boys for a better career as a cop. Things don't pan out well for Scott as he defies an order from his superior during a hostage situation and ends up getting a hostage killed, ending his career and placing him on possible charges.
6 months later, Christmas is on the way, and Scott is demoted to the lower ranks of securing. His relationship with his girlfriend and comrades are strained. That is, until a group of mercenaries disguised as security officers board a big bus with Scott and his men, killing everybody involved within the shootout. A man then appears on the phone, warning Scott if he leaves the bus or calls for help, he will immediately kill him and whatever is left of his squad.
The Man, Royce Sinclair, is a former high-ranking general for the Special Forces, intent on genocide after the losses of his men during a mission gone awry. He deliberately wants the public to remember what happened to him during the mission and will cause great destruction if ignored. Now, Royce will put Scott through a series of tests in which the officers and hostages are at stake. For each test, a life is at stake. If one mistake is made, then people of greater importance will die. Will Scott redeem himself and be able to find the man before any more damage is done?
Influences: Speed, Getaway, Die Hard, and The Rock.
MPAA: Rated R for disturbing bloody violence and strong language.
(This is a high-stakes action movie set in Christmas day like Die Hard, except a little more serious and not comically dark. The majority of the movie would take place on the bus Scott is in, and the rest of the movie would end up in a building where Scott confronts Royce.)
