A sequel to Nocturnal Animals. Like the first film, it has two story-lines: one in the real world and one in a book written by Edward Sheffield.
In the real world, Edward begins to have second thoughts about writing “Nocturnal Animals” after Susan sends him an angry message for standing her up at the end of the first film. He begins consulting different people about how to handle this, and meanwhile begins to write another novel to “complete his thoughts.”
The novel is a prequel to “Nocturnal Animals,” and follows the life of Bobby Andes, and explores his motives behind his actions during the events of the first film, including his past romantic relationship with none other than Laura Crockett, the future Mrs. Tony Hastings.
