The lives of a dysfunctional redneck family will change when they suddenly discover that an alien in a human form known as “Spencer” is hiding on their backyard.
The family decides to provide him shelter from some people who are searching from him. However the family dosn't know that Spencer arrived to the planet Earth so he can feed from the negative emotions of the people, like hatred, sadness and shame, so he can gain the positive ones like joy, hope and empathy, so he can feel more human.
But Spencer will soon discover that the more it feeds on the family's negativity, they feel increasingly positive and their lives are repaired, and for Spencer that might be kind of a bad thing.
(This independent movie is a quirky black comedy and at the same time, a character study about Spencer. Spencer's intentions are never cleared, it let's the viewer to decide if what he's doing is a good or bad thing, if he came here to repair the Mclaughlins lives, or only to take advantage of their negativity. Also the movie ends in an ambiguous way)
