LUCKY STAR by John Silver

Character analysis focusing on the rise of upcoming young actor Vincent Carter Boswell as he endures the painful trials (public scrutiny, production gone wrong) and morally questionable obstacles of fitting in Hollywood (life of drugs, sex, and rock and roll) and living outside of the limelight (public events, news, and more).

Comparison Pitch: Forrest Gump meets Boogie Nights meets A Star is Born with some references
from Tropic Thunder.

MPAA: Rated PG-13 for thematic elements throughout, brief strong language and violent content, sexuality/nudity, and drug use.

NOTE: This would be a nearly 2 and a half hour to 3-hour movie where we see Vincent grow as a person and actor to the end where he makes the decision to either continue acting or return to normality.

Other Characters:

Melinda and Conrad Boswell – Vincent’s loving parents; Melinda is more encouraging and positive while the father is doubtful of his son.

Oscar Columbus – Emmy-award winning British actor whom takes in interest in Vincent after his public stage performance in Hamlet.

Rita March – Secretary of a big movie studio who helps Vincent find his big break.

Sapphire Connors – Tall young actress and Vincent’s first love and co-star in his first project.

John Martin – Former cop in LA who warns Vincent of the dangers of fame and fortune.

Jessie Tyler – Beautiful and down-to-earth actress and Vincent’s superior.

Mark Hughes – Vincent’s witty publicist.

Griffin Hunter – Gruff and hard-nosed Scottish man in the international film industry who is an action movie star.

Danny Allen – Another young actor whom Vincent competes with; they later become best friends.

Sabrina Fernandez – Spanish model who acts as a sister figure to Vincent.

Christopher Woods – Legendary director and former Hollywood agent who challenges Vincent morally and emotionally with his first step out of becoming a young actor.

Emilia Weston – Beautiful young woman and Vincent’s love interest.

Fredrik Ashton – Foreign worker in Europe who is looking to overcome the corruption and political issues his country is facing.

Logan Maguire – Narcissistic but well-respected lead singer of a metal rock band.

Annabelle Avery – Strong-willed Australian actress now a public speaker with unknown motivations.
