Part nine of Volume II of my DC cinematic universe “rebirth” series.
Many months have passed since the White Martian invasion, and things have finally calmed down. The rift to the Phantom Zone left by the Martians has mostly stabilized, and, while they've faced threats of their own, the members of the Justice League have yet to find a threat that requires a reunion. That is, until now: tamperment with the Kryptonian technology left on Earth awakens a Kryptonian artificial intelligence program, now corrupted and seeking out an endless supply of knowledge. Dubbing itself Brainiac, the program wreaks havoc on Earth, leading the Justice League to form once again to prevent a technological takeover.
I understand there's a lot of similarities to Ultron here, but I think the two characters are just so similar to the point that it's hard to fit them into my vision without them sharing similar ideas. Besides that, my version of Brainiac is actually more based on HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey more than anything. Once again, I'll omit minor characters from the proposal, but they would make appearances.
Main inspirations: “Superman: The Animated Series”.
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action, violence and destruction, and for some language.
