PLOT: Three interconnecting stories involving adulthood - and the struggles that come along with major downsides and effort to find light at the end of the tunnel.
Story #1 – A recent high school graduate tries to find solace in living a normal life after distancing himself from his parents who look to the kid’s inspiring older brother and sister living exclusively with their dream careers. Soon, the juvenile ends up with the wrong crowd at the wrong time, sending his desire for popularity and average life running down the trash can.
Story #2 – A 19 year old college sophomore struggles to clear her financial difficulties, often turning to small paying jobs and reluctant one-night-stands to keep her mind off of the obstacles. Until one night, her ex-boyfriend who had just been released from prison and trying to avoid a third strike visits the student and looks for redemption for his wrongdoings in the past.
Story #3 – A young man from Detroit moves to the Bronx after a traumatizing moment forces him to move away from the underworld of crime and drugs. But his past still catches up to him as he looks for forgiveness and attempts to reconnect with his family who have cut off contact from him since his time as a gangster.
Comparison Pitch: Boyhood meets 8 Mile meets 21 Grams.
MPAA: Rated R for pervasive language, some graphic sexuality/nudity, brief violence and drug content – all involving teens.
(Note: This movie will not be overly dark and melancholic, but it won't be too light-hearted, setting a tone of failures and the success they achieve in the end.
Also, this is an ensemble cast story.)
