Aquaman by Andrew Milito (based on characters from DC Comics)

Part five of Volume I of my DC Cinematic Universe “rebirth” series.

Orin is born as the son of Atlanna and Trevis, the queen and king of the kingdom of Atlantis. However, Athur's blonde hair causes panic: fearing he may be plagued with an Atlantean curse, he is banished to the surface world, where he is soon taken in by a lighthouse keeper named Thomas Curry and given the name Arthur Curry. Arthur is raised by Thomas until his death: all the while, Arthur discovers his attraction to the ocean and his heritage. Now grown, he returns to Atlantis, but is imprisoned by the mysterious and powerful Ocean Master, who currently holds power of Atlantis. In prison, Arthur forms a small rebellion, including Atlantean professor Nudis Vulko, to go against all odds and take back the Atlantean throne.

Tonally, I'd want the film to feel similar to Game of Thrones in terms of its medieval political struggles and drama. Aquaman would be taken as seriously as the other films in my universe, very much in line with the New 52 iteration of the character. The first third of the film would be set on land, but from the point where Arthur returns to Atlantis, the film would remain underwater for the rest of the time.

Main inspirations: The “Crisis on Infinite Earths” origin story.

Rated PG-13 for epic battle sequences and scary images.
