The Predators have taken over Fort Collins and the whole community now lives under The predators' rules and imprisoned others, also forcing some of the members into slavery and raping some of the women there. John devises a new strategy to deal with the Predators, but a member of his group attempts to betray him and their group. John is forced to halt his plan. One of the Predators, Kirk (who killed Carl), offers to help the group take back Fort Collins. John, Melody, Cole, and the rest decide to trust Kirk and launch their attempt to end the Predators' reign. The group and the community band together to formulate an assault, but Carter finds out about their attempt. The alliance seizes the opportunity to assassinate Carter, but Carter retreats and declares war. Who will win? Who will die? What will the survivors gain and what else will they loose?
John Tyler, a former college student and leader of the Chicago Group. John is now a slave under William Carter's hand but he has not given up yet.
Melody Gray, a fierce yet compassionate survivor, the last surviving member of her family, Darla's adoptive mother, and John's girlfriend.
Roy Stark, a former surgeon and recovering alcoholic. He is still the communities medic while he resents working for the Predators, he understands that he would be killed if he did not cooperate.
Cole, a fierce survivor and the group's primary hunter and a prominent member of the group. He is now forced into slavery.
Johanna, a fierce axe-wielding survivor who joined the main group.
Garrett, a member of the group who has overcome the trauma of his previous group wiped out by the cannibals.
Darla Grey, Melody's niece and adopted daughter. She is now 15 months old. Darla is still under the care of Melody but will be killed if she doesn't cooperate.
Jason, a martial arts fighter who brought in John's group into the community.
Logan, the community's supply runner and scout who brings John's group into the community.
Jared, Logan's scouting partner and boyfriend.
Delvin, a guard and John's college roommate before the apocalypse.
Allison, a nurse stationed at Fort Collins and Delvin's girlfriend.
Mack, an aggressive resident of Fort Collins. originally a conniving and arrogant man, who tries to redeem himself for his past actions.
Michael Todd, a smart, yet cowardly resident of Fort Collins.
Julia, a woman in charge of the weapons storage at the Fort Collins Community.
a group of heavily armed and hostile survivors who raid and destroy other camps for supplies.
William Carter, the psychopathic and sadistic founder and leader of The Predators who has taken control over Fort Collins.
Vivian, Carter's girlfriend and sharp-shooter.
Alex, a violent and cynical member of the Predators and Carter's second-in-command.
Owen, an abusive and manipulative member of the predators who rapes women, including Amber, and comes to antagonize Melody and Johanna.
Kirk, a leading member of the Predators, but despises Carter for holding his wife Hilda over him and becomes an uneasy ally of John Tyler as a double agent against Carter.
