“Terror runs deeper into our future.”
My own post-apocalyptic re-imagining of Jaws.
In the future, great white sharks are almost extinct. Due to the amount of gruesome shark attacks and killings of these sea creatures, the food cycle for the sharks have become incomplete and the marine life system is endangered as well as lack of studies in ideas on how to keep sharks alive.
But in 2050, a team of 8 decides to head for the Mediterranean Sea to search for any signs of Great White sharks remaining in the areas of a deserted Australia. Everything goes well while visiting the land until one night, while attempting to travel back to the United States, their ship suddenly stops functioning and discovers that the craft has been severely damaged, by bigger bite marks from something bigger than a normal Great White.
Soon, while attempting to get to shore, the team discovers that there is a much bigger threat that implies a return of one of the remaining Great White sharks, but much bigger in size and with more advanced features.
NOTE: Jaws in the future with a survival horror atmosphere but a Terminator twist.
MPAA: Rated R for strong violent shark attacks and terror, language, and brief nudity.
- I will still keep the three main characters of Jaws (Brody, Quint and Hooper), but make them around their early to late 30's.
- The Great White from Jaws becomes a mysterious but artificial shark with the ability to coordinate movements of any living beings, with massive cyborg teeth, and really swift movements.
- I wouldn't add the Party Animal theme cliche from the original Jaws and the Piranha movies. I feel that this has been done a little too much and poorly, and I would rather replace it with the discovery and fight for survival theme.
- There will ABSOLUTELY be NO massive CGI. If this were to be made into a movie, there would be all practicality and some CGI in certain scenarios.
Alexandra Ross - A scientist in her mid 20's who tries to figure out the natural causes of the Great White's extinction.
Holland Doyle - Determined Australian biologist with a collected nature and fascination towards sea life.
Richard Johnson - Middle-aged no nonsense pilot of his ship; is later crippled as a result of being attack by the Great White while trying to fix the ship.
Madison Banks - Blunt but adventurous hotshot who used to work in the military.
Edgar Thomas - Quiet but intermediate level survivalist.
