(Inspired by YouTube Video - Deadly Hornet Invasion EAS.)
One night when a truck driver is transporting boxes of Japanese Giant Hornets from Japan to a military ship, the truck ends up crashing an incoming vehicle, causing the boxes to fall out of the truck and release the extremely dangerous insects. In the process, the driver and the witnesses inside of the incoming vehicle are killed as the hornets begin to brood together and form a massive dark cloud.
In Arizona, a group of scientists and environmentalists are studying to figure out what is causing a huge decline in the population of bees, in spite of global warming and pesticide. Soon, the team receives a call from a survivor who claims to have witnessed the Japanese Giant Hornets multiplying and displaying more aggressive behavior, displaying many differences from the original Japanese Hornets. The survivor, running into the military base, frantically attempts to warn the world of the incoming swarm, but is too late as officers subdue the man and lock him up.
It's already too late for the group to alert the city of Arizona as the hornets now descend from the sky and cause massive destruction upon the city and continues to spread to other areas in America. The group, now forced to escape the swarm, has to trace the origin of the attacks and figure out what has led these insects to be more dangerous.
MPAA: Rated PG-13 for frenetic disaster images and insect attacks throughout, disturbing images, and brief strong language.
