Based on the fifth installment of the survival horror video game franchise by Capcom.
The Story: Even after the fall of the Umbrella Corporation, rogue researchers had succeeded in selling off company assets to the black market, with terrorist organizations and rival firms acquiring them. This forced former S.T.A.R.S. members Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine to start up a new agency dedicated to the investigation of B.O.W.s called the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, or B.S.A.A. for short. Since its birth, Chris has become the most active and respected member of the BSAA, across all branches. He had participated in more missions than anyone else, and was responsible for their success.
In 2009, Chris was deployed to Africa to investigate the rumblings of a major bioweapons deal. He is teamed up with Sheva Alomar, a young, but promising agent of the B.S.A.A.'s West African branch. Their job is to stop known bioweapons dealer Ricardo Irving from selling a new virus strain on the black market.
But Chris isn't there just for this mission alone. It turns out he's there to investigate rumors of the location of his longtime partner Jill Valentine. He reveals to Sheva that the duo's last mission was at former Umbrella president Oswell E. Spencer's estate in Europe, where they hoped to have found longtime nemesis Albert Wesker. However, Wesker killed Spencer before they could hope to get answers, and a scuffle lead to Jill's apparent death. She would be declared dead months later.
Of course, the ghosts of the Spencer estate would come back to haunt Chris as not only Wesker makes a surprise return, but also Jill, apparently working alongside Wesker and TRICELL's regional director of the African region, Excella Gionne, who also shares Wesker's dream of world domination. They plan on releasing a new virus strain known as Uroboros upon the world, eventually resulting in the vision of Wesker's new world order.
As the curtains to final battle between the decade-long nemeses unfold, can Chris confront the past if he hopes to see a better future?
