Based on the 2000 Dreamcast release/2001 PS2 revision, complete with story elements from The Darkside Chronicles' chapter Game of Oblivion.
The Story: Following a harrowing experience in the now-destroyed Raccoon City, Claire Redfield officially sets out to find her brother, former S.T.A.R.S. member Chris Redfield. But the quest becomes perilous as Umbrella remains a step ahead at every turn, and Chris nowhere to be found. Through this time, she trains her body and mind to prepare herself for a perilous journey. However, the disappointment, treachery, and training is slowly causing her to lose touch with her humanity, almost convinced that her brother may be dead, and causing her to be more cold, paranoid, untrusting, and isolated towards any remaining friends.
Hope slowly comes when a source close to her reveals that her brother was last seen at an Umbrella facility in France. As she investigates, it's revealed to once again be another trap, and now Claire is under arrest and sent to a prison in Rockfort Island, located somewhere in Spain. Eventually, an air strike unexpectedly comes around and attacks the base, leaving Claire free to go via plane. Little does she know that Rockfort Island is home to a few more affiliates to Umbrella, including Alfred and Alexia Ashford, the grandchildren of one of the first founders of Umbrella, Edward Ashford. The air strike caused their work on the T-Virus to eventually spill and release hordes of zombies that roam the island. And neither sibling is preparing to go down without a fight.
Eventually, Claire runs into Steve Burnside, another prisoner who has also been a victim to Umbrella's under-the-table dealings. The paranoid young woman thinks that Steve may be working for Umbrella, rejecting his advances and treating him unfairly at times. But with Steve's experience with guns almost rivaling Claire's (he's played House of the Dead a few times and got the #1 high score), he becomes a helpful ally and eventually helps Claire regain her sweet personality.
However, troubles mount more when Albert Wesker makes a shocking appearance. He was supposedly dead after the Arclay Mansion incident, but thanks to the T-Virus, he has become a more powerful human being. He sees Claire as the perfect bait to lure her brother Chris so the nemeses can have their ultimate showdown, with his planned siege on Rockfort Island just the tip of what he has in store.
With the Ashfords and Wesker engaged in a Hatfields-and-McCoys-style fight for Claire, and the whereabouts of Chris unknown, can Claire and Steve trust each other and escape this nightmarish scenario and, maybe, shut down Umbrella's supposed final base of operations?
