Talking to dragons is about a boy named Daystar who lives with his mother at the edge of the Enchanted Forest. One day a wizard barges in and demands a particular sword from his mother, but to Daystar's surprise his mother melts the wizard! The next morning she sends Daystar with the sword into the Enchanted Forest and tells him not to come back until he knows why he had to leave. He follows her advice, and begins his adventures meeting a fire-witch, a young dragon, a talking lizard, and many of his mother's old friends... And enemies.
There is great trouble in the Enchanted Forest, and now the new Queen Cimorene must travel with Kazul, Morwen, Telemain and a floating blue donkey-turned rabbit to stop the wizards, but will it all work out...?
