The three daughters of immigrants Peter and Olga - Laverne, Maxene & Patty - discover their talent for singing as a trio. They are encouraged to form a group and influenced by the Boswell siblings' success, they call themselves The Andrews Sisters and embrace the boogie-woogie, jazz sound.
