Peter Jackson's King Kong made 20 years later. In 1933 New York, an overly ambitious movie producer coerces his cast and hired ship crew to travel to mysterious Skull Island, where they encounter Kong, a giant ape who is immediately smitten with leading lady Ann Darrow. (Plot: IMDB)
Based off a fanfic I read. In the near-future, the GDF (Global Defense Force) finds a way to transform the world's Kaiju, even some of the deceased ones and ones who are no longer on Earth, into human beings. After the monsters are transformed, they are given the opportunity to see life through human eyes and are placed in planned and carefully-monitored communities. When faced with the impossible (even for them), the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement & Logistics Division knows just the team to call in... and these folks ain't the Avengers! The Howling Commandos are brought in to handle the supernatural threats that no other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents can.
Pacific Rim and Power Rangers! Yes, yes, at first it sounds ridiculous but just think: Raleigh has unknowingly been infected with some Kaiju shizzle which kicks in and turns him into a Kaiju/human hybrid. This smaller threat needs to be fought by something smaller than big, hulking robots, thus they create Pacific Rim's version of the Power Rangers. (Then we can bring out the Jaegers later when big Kaiju are awoken again)
