Whilst on leave from S.H.I.E.L.D, Natasha Romanoff (AKA Black Widow) is seconded to MI6 to find the daughter of a British national, Patsy Walker, who was kidnapped by a rogue Russian general, Nidor Ralvik, and his private army. Romanov is aware that Ralvik has superior technology at his fingertips, so she enlists the help of heroines who have abilities even more extroadinary than her own: Enchantress, Firestar and Spider Woman. However, during the rescue mission, it turns out that Miss Walker has powers of her own. During the conflict, Ralvik and some of his soldiers escape. Using her genius in the field of decrypting computer files, Patsy (now given the monniker of Hellcat) learns that plans to provoke a war between North and South Korea, one that will provide General Ralvik with the tactical advantage which can see him successfully invade both halves of Korea. The five women form their own team, 'The Lady Liberators', to bring the plans of this meglomaniacal general crashing down around him.
