LURING DIANA BIRCH is a British TV movie. Private detective Diana Birch receives a telephone call from Helen James, a 26-year old supermarket cashier, whom asks Diana to meet with her at a pub. At the pub, Helen hires Diana to track down her Scottish boyfriend Andrew Kemper, whom has gone missing, after attending a football match and has had no help from the police. Diana agrees and sets out to find Andrew and follow his trail. After visiting Andrew's older brother Ciaran. Diana and Ciaran goes to the police to confront them about why they refused to help Helen find Andrew, only to learn Helen didn't go to the police station and never reported Andrew's disappearance and Cara confesses to not going to the police, because Andrew is an Ex convict who served a 12-year prison sentence for assaulting a police officer and Cara got into trouble with the police for prank phone calls and lying to the police, when she was a teenager, and the police may not had believed her about Andrew. This leads D.I. Matt Walters, an old friend of Diana, to become suspicious of Cara and Walters and his partner D.I. Anna Washington follow Helen, where they discover Helen and Andrew staged Andrew's disappearance, with help from Walters and Washington's Canadian college corrupt D.S. Donna Johnson and they learn Helen is Diana's daughter whom Diana abandoned when she was an infant and was left to be raised her recently deceased father and they uncover Helen's plot to lure Diana to an abandoned warehouse and kill her and they set out to foil Helen's scheme and get answers...
