MARIO AND LUIGI: ADVENTURES IN THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM is a live-action/CGI TV series based on the ''Super Mario Bros.'' Nintendo game, which is a new take on the video game and has nothing to do with the 1993 motion picture adaptation. The Earth is invaded by King Bowser Koopa, a evil reptilian tyrant and his army of Goombas and Koopa Troopas, via a portal and has enslaved the human race and brought the human race to ''Dinosaur Land'', another world in another dimension inhabited by dinosaurs, which Koopa rules with an ironfist. Escaping from Koopa's castle with help from Koopa's pet dinosaur named Yoshi and a caveboy named Oogta. Italian American plumber Mario and his brother Luigi escapes via a portal only to find themselves in ''The Mushroom Kingdom'', a beautiful and strange world ruled by Princess Toadstool. Mario, Luigi and their companions, soon joined by Princess Toadstool's loyal servant Toad, Mario and Luigi embarks on a quest to free the human race from the clutches of King Koopa and his Koopalings, Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy and Ludwig and save ''The Mushroom Kingdom'' itself and other worlds from King Koopa...
