Logan 5 is a 29-year old assassin who works for a elite police force called ''The Sandmen''. Like all ''Sandmen'', Logan's job is hunt down and terminate ''Runners'', men and women who refuses to die on their 30th Birthday due to population control and prevents ''The Runners'' from fleeing from the city and into the post-apocalyptic ruins, which the city is sealed off from. When Logan himself turns 30-years old, Logan decides to escape and becomes a ''Runner''. Now a fugitive and hunted by his former partner Francis 8, Logan joined by a woman named Jessica 6 set out to escape from the city, as Logan and Jessica decide to go in search of ''The Sancutary'', a place that has been rumoured to exisit somewhere outside the city, which is the reason for all ''Runners'' escaping from the city. Once escaping from the city and befriend by a lone Old Man. Logan begins to question the system and decides to return to the city and set the citizens free from society and live in a new world where nobody has die to at age 30...
