Two con-men win a map to the lost city of gold known as El Dorado. After accidentally stowing away on the ship of the ferocious conquistador Hernán Cortésthey wind up at the new world and with the map and find the city. They are mistaken by the people as gods and with the help of the feisty and attractive woman Chel they deceive the people in their con, but things go awry when the high priest Tzekel-Kan discovers their secret.
