The story follows Negi Springfield, a graduate from the Meldiana School of Magic. When he graduated in 2003, he didn't expect to become an English teacher at an all-girls school in Japan! Almost immediately after his arrival at Mahora Academy, he gets on Asuna's bad side just by replacing Takamichi Takahata. And then Asuna discovers he's a wizard! Good thing Negi managed to get her to keep mum about it.
This story chronicles their adventures, such as a love potion that affects every girl around Negi except Asuna (who's immune to most forms of magic), a competition in the bath house to see who gets to keep Negi in their room, a game of dodgeball against high school behemoths that Takahata-sensei once taught, a final exam that hinges on a magic book on Library Island, a battle against two of the girls, a trip to Kyoto (that includes frogs on a bullet train), an encounter with a demon from Negi's past, a wild school festival, and more.
