The Greatest American Hero by Stephen J.Cannell

Ralph Hinkley is an unlikely choice for a hero but when aliens bestow on him a suit with superpowers he is to become the protector of the planet.But Ralph loses the instruction manual before mastering the suit's abilities. Chaos and hilarity ensue as Ralph tries to balance his life as a Teacher and save the world, while still trying to learn what his new suit can do. Aided by FBI agent Bill Maxwell and his attorney girlfriend Pam Davidson, Ralph has to learn quickly before a rogue alien comes looking for the suit willing to destroy anyone and anything in his way.
