When an experimental space voyage goes awry, four people are changed by cosmic rays. Reed Richards, inventor and leader of the group gains the ability to stretch his body, and takes the name, Mr. Fantastic. His girlfriend, Sue Storm, gains the ability to turn invisible and create force fields, calling herself the Invisible Woman. Her younger brother Johnny Storm gains the ability to control fire, including covering his own body with flame, becoming the Human Torch. Pilot Ben Grimm is turned into a super-strong rock creature calling himself Thing. Together, they use their unique powers to explore the strange aspects ...

Yeah the whole Briney Spears thing is killing me. Just because someone is photogenic, does not necessarily equate acting ability. If looking good on camera is the only criteria, then lets cast some of the athletes from the olympics. Most of them are attractive and fit.
Oh, and Jessica Alba looks suspiciously like a squirrel.

A short article from USA Today about the cast and production.
Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm? Are they F%&$@ing kidding?
Who thought that was a good idea? Do these Hollywood casting idiots even READ these stories?
Jesus bald-headed Christ. I predict this movie will suck like a Dyson vacuum, especially when directed by this hack.
Michael Chiklis is an awesome actor. He's been my first choice for Thing before he was even casted. The guy will totally pull it off. Hes probably the best casting they made.
IMO, the only bad casting choices was Jessica Alba and Ian Grufford
I'll wait and see what Chiklis does. I hope he proves me wrong.
I would've gone with the cast used in the roger corman produced 1994 live action laugh-riot.
The ultimate Fantasic Four cast:
Reed Richards: George Clooney
Invisible Woman: Kate Hudson
Human Torch: Ryan Gosling
The Thing: CGI
Dr. Doom: Gary Oldman
I actually had 2 castings done. One is before the movie came out and the other is after.
Pre-movie :
Mr. Fantastic - Rupert Everett
Invisible Woman - Madonna
The Thing - Ron Perlman
Human Torch - Jonothan Brandis
Dr. Doom - Alan Rickman
Post-movie :
Mr. Fantastic - Scott Backula
Invisible Woman - Natasha Henstridge
The Thing - Gary Busey
Human Torch - Eminem
Dr. Doom - Alan Rickman
I kept Rickman because he is the only one capable to bring Doom to life. In my opinion, of course. He's done psycho mastermind in Die Hard. The suave, suphisticated side from Sense and Sensability. And a powerful sorcerer in the Harry Potter films.
Sue Storm/Invisable Woman-Uma Thurman(at the time of Pulp Fiction)
Ben Grimm/The Thing-The Rock
Johnny Storm/Human Torch-Chris Evans
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic-Bruce "The man" Campbell
Dr. Doom-Sam Neil(At the time of The Omen III).
