I like my cast for FLASH GORDON. Thomas Jane as Flash Gordon, Diane Kruger as Dale Arden, Jurgen Prochnow as Dr. Hans Zarkov, Thomas Kretchman as Emperor Ming 'The Merciless', Charlie-Creed Miles as Captain Torch, Alexa Davalos as Princess Aura and Alec Newman as Prince Barin.

DIANE KRUGER (Troy, National Treasure)

JURGEN PROCHNOW (The Replacement Killers, Wing Commander)

THOMAS KRETCHMAN (Blade 2, Resident Evil: Apocalyse)

CHARLIE CREED-MILES (Essex Boys, King Arthur)

ALEC NEWMAN (Dune, Children of Dune)

I think they are the right cast.

I think Thomas Jane is a little too craggly and intense for Flash... I'd cast Ryan Reynolds (Van Wilder, Blade: Trinity) as Flash and give Barin to Thomas Jane.
Dale is a tough one to cast, as the character requires equal doses of girl-next-door and sassiness... I pick Kiera Knightley.
Jurgen Prochnow is spot on for Dr Zarkov

For Ming the Merciless, I was having a tough time not thinking of Max von Sydow (who was a pitch-perfect Ming in the 1980 movie), then I thought of Japanese actor Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai, Batman Begins)... now *he* definitely has Ming-ness all over him :-)
