In The Books of Magic, teenager Tim Hunter is visited by four mysterious strangers, who tell him that he has the potential to become the world's greatest magician of all time, and offer him a guided tour of the mystical parts of the DC Universe. He must first learn how to control his gifts from a strange group of magicians.
I couldn't resist suggesting Gerard Butler as the Phantom Stranger, & Mel Gibson as Mr. E. Gerard was an awesome Phantom of the Opera. There was a Mr. E on Disney's "Recess" who bore a decided resemblance to Mel.
