The tale of Lyra, a twelve year old blonde British girl growing up among the scholars as Jordan Collage. Her uncle is a harsh dark haired man who inspires her journey north, into the world of witches, daemons, and pansebejourne(armoured bears) as she discovers who she really is, she will have to make many choices.
No more dakota for Lyra. It is not going to happen. Lyra must be British ages 12-16 and dark blonde with pale blue eyes. And tanned-so not dakota.
How about Rachel Hurd-Wood? Her eyes have something akin to the way the character of Lyra is written in the books. Plus she's British, within the right age group. What do you think?
if she got more support maybe and if they could make her look younger-she's done quite a bit of growing up since peter pan.
The person who plays Lyra SHOULD be british- I hate american kids faking the accent. And Lyra has to have an amazing intensity to her, an actor who is naturally a lot like the character Lyra. I really don't like Dakota Fanning or Rachel Hurd-Wood. Dakota's american, and Rachel seems really fake- like she wouldn't play it honestly, and she's too sweet. I want someone gritty and hard- this little girl has grown up at a college, raised by whomever was around to deal out the punishments. Hopefully the UK can produce some amazing unknown- I'll be holding my breath!
How about Chelsie Padley who played Louise in 'Tracy Beaker'? She's blonde, British and unknown.
Well no more talking about who is going to be Lyra because she's been cast. Dakota Blue Richards is going to be her.
I definatley think Emma Watson could pull off this role- a little older then the character, perhaps, but all of the fantasy sequences of the story matches up to her perfectly. and c'mon- dakota fanning playing lyra? shes good, but shes not that good...
Here are two possible choices for Mary Malone. Anna Friel or Georgina Cates. Both are in the right age group, give or take a year or two.
