Hack/Slash TV series by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli

Created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, the comic centers on Cassie Hack, who serves as the epitome of all the Final Girl horror movie stereotypes, but instead of dying at “the end,” she’s taking the fight back to all the murderous bastards (called Slashers) who prey on teenagers. Joining in her monster-slaying quest is Vlad, a giant disfigured dude in a gas mask who has a talent of sticking cleavers into bad guys, which come in both undead form and in alive-but-psychotic form.

Y: The Last Man TV series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra

On July 17, 2002, all living mammals with a Y chromosome — including embryos and sperm simultaneously die, with the exception of a young amateur escape artist named Yorick Brown and his Capuchin monkey, Ampersand. Many women die from disasters caused by the men's deaths, such as plane crashes. Society is plunged into chaos as infrastructures collapse, and the surviving women everywhere try to cope with the loss of the men, and the belief that, barring a rapid, major scientific breakthrough or other extraordinary happening, humanity is doomed to extinction.

Crossed (comic) by Garth Ennis & Jacen Burrows

The story follows survivors dealing with a plague that causes its victims to carry out their most evil thoughts. Carriers of the virus are known as the Crossed due to a cross-like rash that appears on their faces. This contagion is primarily spread through bodily fluids, which the Crossed have used to great effect by treating their weapons with their fluids, as well as through other forms of direct fluidic contact such as rape and bites, assuming the victim lives long enough to turn.
